ANIK is looking for enthusiastic Bilingual Experience Ambassadors (Spanish/English) to support the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) project from April 28th to June 28th. If you're passionate about community engagement and enjoy connecting with people, this is your opportunity to make a difference!
Report Location
Positions will be based at various transit centers and rail stations within the WMATA Metrobus service area, including:
- District of Columbia
- Maryland: Montgomery County and Prince George's County
- Virginia: Arlington County, Fairfax County, Loudoun County, as well as the cities of Alexandria and Falls Church
Staff will be provided with photo badges for easy identification and complimentary bus rides during assignments.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrive promptly at your scheduled location.
- Engage in friendly, in-person conversations with travelers to invite participation in a brief 5-minute questionnaire.
- Conduct one-on-one interviews—passengers will not use tablets.
- Meet survey quotas: 6 digital surveys or 10 paper surveys per hour.
- Return to the starting point to drop off collected data, receive supervisor feedback, and get assigned the next location and time.
Qualifications
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Punctuality is essential—missing a bus results in missing a shift.
- Outgoing personality and natural communication skills.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is encouraged but not mandatory.
- Passionate about community betterment and innovation.
- Ability to stand on moving transportation for extended periods.
- Proficiency in Apple iPad usage and Google Maps.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Job Details
- Workdays: Monday – Thursday (excluding holidays); possible weekend shifts
- Pay Rate:
- English-only: $22/hour
- Bilingual (English/Spanish): $23/hour
- Employment Type: 1099 Contractor (Hourly)
- Start Date: Tuesday, April 28th, 2026 (Mandatory training on April 28th)
- Project Duration: Approximately 2 months
Attire & Shift Details
- Comfortable shoes with rubber soles recommended for safety; high heels not advised.
- No T-shirts with graphics.
- Pants should be in good condition, without tears or sagging.
- No facial tattoos or facial piercings.
Available Shifts
Morning Shift: 5:30-6:00 AM start (must be available at 5:30 AM), ending between 1:00-2:00 PM.
Evening Shift: Around 2:00 PM to approximately 10:00-10:30 PM (must be available until 10:30 PM if needed).
Specific times and locations may vary daily based on transit schedules.
