Japanese Business Services Manager – Global Compliance and Reporting

Business is constantly evolving, and staying ahead requires adaptability. As a Japanese Business Services Tax Manager, you will immerse yourself in the evolving tax landscape by preparing and auditing income tax provisions, assisting with filings, consulting on planning opportunities, and coaching staff on your engagement teams.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Review staff work product and coordinate with clients and internal teams
  • Manage deadlines and track engagement economics
  • Identify and resolve tax technical issues
  • Share insights to improve processes and overall efficiency
  • Prioritize and handle a wide range of evolving responsibilities

Skills And Attributes For Success

  • Provide tailored domestic federal tax advice for US and Japanese inbound clients
  • Stay updated on legislative changes affecting planning activities
  • Supervise high-performing teams and share leading-practice knowledge
  • Build internal and external relationships, fostering collaboration
  • Develop practical recommendations for complex tax issues

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or graduate degree in Tax or Law, with 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Progress toward or completion of CPA certification or licensed attorney status
  • Background in tax compliance, income tax accounting, and US income taxation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and data mining tools
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and engage directly with clients' teams
  • Fluency in Japanese
  • Willingness to travel as needed and work in a hybrid environment
