Bilingual Interpreter 🌎

Join CyraCom and be a vital voice for those who need assistance communicating. As a phone interpreter, you'll bridge language gaps between essential service providers—such as healthcare professionals and patients, or customer service agents and clients.

What You'll Be Doing

This role involves performing skilled consecutive interpretation in first-person, following established policies and procedures under supervision. You'll handle routine interpretations and refer more complex or non-routine issues to your supervisor. The position applies across all languages spoken.

Essential Functions (Major Duties & Responsibilities)

• Provides meaning-for-meaning interpreting to ensure clear communication.
• Follows CyraCom's interpreter protocols as dictated by training, policies, and procedures.
• Maintains strict confidentiality and adheres to ethics policies related to interpreting.
• Attends all mandatory training sessions, including those conducted by the Quality and Development Department.
• Continuously enhances vocabulary and knowledge in specialized fields such as medical, legal, and social services.
• Uses standard office equipment: telephones, computers, copiers, and fax machines.
• Operates MS Office applications like Outlook, Word, and browsers such as Edge.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Fluency in English and the target language.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in both languages.
• Basic understanding of linguistics and cultural differences.
• Flexibility to adapt swiftly to changing circumstances.
• Ability to stay calm and effective during emergencies.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently within company policies.
• High level of confidentiality and integrity.
• Effective at informing supervisors of issues.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and common office equipment (fax, copier, phone).

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in English and at least one other language (assessment required).
