Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Family Support Worker (Bilingual English/Spanish) to join our Healthy Families America program. This full-time role involves 40 hours per week dedicated to empowering families and supporting young children.

Key Responsibilities

  • 🍼 Provide critical support to pregnant women and families with children under 5.
  • 🏠 Conduct home visits to assess family needs, offer guidance, and deliver family-centered, strength-based interventions.
  • 👪 Work directly with both Spanish-speaking and English-speaking families to foster trusting relationships and enhance parent/child interactions.
  • 📚 Deliver curriculum-based prenatal health and early childhood development education to promote well-being and safety.
  • 🚑 Assess additional needs or crises, making referrals to community resources to ensure family safety and health.
  • 🗓 Maintain a caseload by coordinating meetings through various formats — phone, virtual, or in-person — tailored to family preferences.
  • 📝 Document family functioning objectively and report data accurately within deadlines.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 🧸 At least two years of experience providing services and engaging families with infants and toddlers.
  • 👨‍🎓 Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Child Development, Education, or a related field; high school diploma or equivalent with college coursework preferred.
  • 🆘 Valid CPR and First Aid Certifications.
  • 📚 Preference for applicants trained in Growing Great Kids Curriculum or HFA core trainings.
  • 🖥 Ability to sit, stand, and walk continuously throughout the day.
  • 🔄 Ability to bend, stoop, squat, push, pull (10-15%), kneel, and reach above shoulder level (1-33%).
  • 🖥 Proficiency in utilizing computers and office equipment (50-75%).
  • 🚗 Must have own transportation, driver’s license, and auto insurance.
  • 🗣 Bilingual English/Spanish required.
