Role Overview 🔍
We seek an exceptional bilingual (Japanese/English) executive to serve as an Executive Officer. This unique opportunity allows you to lead and develop a lean, impactful U.S. operation, reporting directly to our parent company in Japan. Starting Salary 💰
$150,000 plus benefits including:

Duties & Responsibilities 📋
1. Strategic Leadership & Business Planning
- Develop and maintain annual goals in collaboration with parent company leadership.
- Execute strategies to sustain and enhance monthly profitability across all units.
- Lead periodic company meetings, reviews, and performance assessments.
- Align business strategies with the Japan headquarters.
- Foster success within divisions by motivating and guiding managers.
2. Sales Leadership 💼
- Guide the General Manager of Sales & Service to meet profit targets in:
- Metrology Equipment
- Field Service
3. Contract Manufacturing Growth 🏭
- Oversee Account Managers to grow existing and new contracts in:
- Contract Manufacturing Services
- Automation Components
- Identify opportunities to expand the portfolio and optimize margins.
4. Finance & Compliance 💼
- Supervise Finance & General Affairs managers; review financial reports including P&L, Balance Sheet, Revenue, and Expenses.
- Ensure compliance with tax, insurance, regulatory, and labor standards.
- Approve compensation structures and oversee accounting, inventory, and contracts.
5. Human Resources 🧑🤝🧑
- Manage HR and Office Operations teams on organizational development, recruiting, performance reviews, and compensation.
- Maintain policies aligned with labor standards to foster a compliant, high-performance culture.
6. New Business Development 📈
- Maintain strategic relationships with partners such as KLA, Onto, Merck, and Velo.
- Research and analyze new market opportunities and potential partners.
- Present findings to Japan's executive team for strategic decisions.
- Lead initial outreach and relationship-building efforts.
7. Product & Engineering Oversight 🛠️
- Supervise Field Service and Engineering teams responsible for product engineering, installation, and maintenance.
- Drive revenue through annual maintenance contracts and uphold service quality.
Requirements ✅
Required:
- Native or professional-level fluency in Japanese and English (speaking and writing)
- Proven leadership managing multi-functional operations including sales and finance
- Strong financial skills in P&L, budgets, and reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related fields
- Authorized to work in the U.S.; willingness to relocate or reside in Chicago
- Comfortable collaborating closely with Japanese executive leadership
Preferred:
- 15+ years of leadership experience, including 5+ years in senior management
- Experience working with Japanese corporations and understanding of Japanese business culture
- Track record managing U.S. subsidiaries of foreign companies
- Entrepreneurial experience in building teams and growth in lean setups
- Technical background to engage productively with engineering teams
- Experience in micro-electronics or semiconductor industries
- MBA or advanced degree
Work Environment & Physical Requirements 🚶♂️💻
- Mainly office-based at 4809 N. Ravenswood Avenue, Chicago, IL 60640
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
- Schedule flexibility for remote meetings, often with Asian teams
- Desk work with standard physical demands
- Proficiency with office technology and software
