Role Overview

At Sodexo, we are passionate about bringing together great ingredients and innovative cooking to create exceptional culinary experiences. We are seeking a highly skilled Research & Development Cantonese Area Executive Chef to spearhead culinary innovation, focused on authentic and modern Cantonese dishes for a corporate services client in the New Jersey/New York tri-state area. This role involves developing new menu concepts, refining recipes, and supporting culinary operations across multiple locations with consistent, high-quality Cantonese cuisine. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in traditional Cantonese cooking techniques, strong leadership skills, and a passion for innovation in a fast-paced culinary environment.

This is a remote position. Candidates must reside in or near the New Jersey or New York area. Travel is required, with an expected commitment of up to 50%. 🚗

What You'll Do

• Provide culinary leadership as an Asian Market Chinese Specialist Chef in support of the Asian Markets Squad 🍜
• Support critical customer presentations and lead new menu ideation from a culinary perspective 🎯
• Act as a savory subject matter expert with a focus on scratch cooking and flavor development 🍤
• Lead culinary content development for North American projects alongside chef peers and the Head Chef 📝
• Accelerate growth initiatives around Savory/Scratch Cooking to enhance the value of UFS brands for both existing and prospective customers 🚀
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Culinary Development Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to align resources and support zone priorities 🤝
• Translate selling stories, packaging, and recipes between Cantonese and English, ensuring cultural relevance and accuracy 🌎
• Interpret and convert metric and imperial measurements for recipes and culinary materials 📏

What You Bring

• Bilingual proficiency in Cantonese and English, with the ability to communicate culinary and commercial concepts clearly in both languages 🗣️
• At least 3+ years of culinary experience in the Foodservice Industry (Corporate or Kitchen) 🍳
• 3+ years working in Chinese kitchens in the US/Canada, with specialization in Cantonese and Szechuan cuisines 🥢
• A solution-oriented mindset with creative problem-solving abilities 🧩
• Experience collaborating with sales teams to generate and cultivate business opportunities 💼
• Understanding of restaurant distribution networks 🍽️
• Experience selling branded food categories and related products 🌟
• Excellent communication and follow-up skills across all organizational levels 📞
• Accountability to meet KPIs and team goals 🎯

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience 🎓
