About the Opportunity

The Executive Vice President for Birthright Israel North America, Inc. (BRINA)—the U.S.-based subsidiary of Birthright Israel International (Taglit)—will serve as the organization's top professional in the United States and Canada. As a vital member of Taglit’s International Senior Management Team, this leader will shape the next chapter of growth and impact for Birthright Israel, celebrating its 25th anniversary.

The EVP will develop and oversee strategic partnerships with campuses, communities, and organizations to elevate Birthright Israel’s profile, expand recruitment, and increase participation across its programs. They will serve as a strategic thought partner and movement builder, inspiring the organization with authenticity and purpose to advance its mission of fostering Jewish identity, community, and connection to Israel for future generations.

Key Responsibilities

Organizational and Strategic Leadership

  • Serve as the primary liaison between North American and Israeli teams, providing regional insights and cultural context during management discussions.
  • Represent insights on young North American Jewish adults to inform strategy and enhance the organization’s thought leadership and storytelling.
  • Collaborate with the Birthright Israel Foundation to steward funders and Federations through program updates, grant support, and presentations.
  • Oversee a team of 15 members, aligning departments through effective communication, mentorship, and strategic coordination to fulfill organizational priorities.

Partnership and Community Engagement

  • Identify, build, and secure new partnerships to increase brand recognition, program offerings, and participant opportunities.
  • Cultivate relationships with influencers, educators, Jewish leaders, and Israeli diplomats to expand impact and reach.
  • Monitor trends across campuses, media, and the Jewish political sphere to maintain strategic alignment and relevance.

Brand Representation and Outreach

  • Represent Birthright Israel in North America at key events, serving as a trusted advocate for recruitment, education, and program development.
  • Drive organizational engagement into new and diverse markets across North America to attract potential participants.
  • Partner with the Birthright Israel Foundation to craft compelling narratives from program outcomes and participant stories, inspiring donor support and community involvement.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate will possess leadership, relationship-building, and communication skills essential for connecting North American and Israeli stakeholders. They will have:

  • Significant senior leadership experience, with a talent for leading through influence, collaboration, and inspiration.
  • Outstanding communication skills to articulate vision, motivate teams, and engage diverse audiences.
  • Deep knowledge of the Jewish communal landscape and North American–Israel relations, including familiarity with leading institutions and political contexts.
  • Insight into young Jewish audiences, understanding their motivations and engagement patterns, and translating these into effective strategies.
  • Proven ability to foster trusted partnerships, communicate clearly, and demonstrate executive presence across sectors.
  • A strong personal commitment to Birthright Israel’s mission to strengthen Jewish identity and connection to Israel.

Qualifications & Logistics

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required
  • Language: Hebrew comprehension required
  • Location: BRINA’s New York City headquarters (in-office Monday–Thursday)
  • Travel: Regular travel required, approximately 25% of the time
  • Compensation: Salary range of $300,000 – $325,000, commensurate with experience
