Your Role as Event Planner 🎉
You will be responsible for planning a variety of unique events throughout the year, utilizing creative and innovative approaches in nontraditional spaces within Petco Park, The Rady Shell, and EVE. Your active participation will extend into community engagement and hospitality industry collaborations.
Key Responsibilities
- Event Planning & Execution: Manage events from concept to completion, including schematics, enhancements, client billing, staffing, invoicing, and reconciliation.
- Timeline & Schedule Creation: Develop detailed event timelines, agendas, run of show documents, and production schedules.
- Event Day Coordination: Oversee staff, vendors, catering, and production activities at event venues.
- Client & Vendor Meetings: Conduct site visits and maintain relationships with clients and vendors as needed.
- Revenue & Budget Management: Drive revenue goals, manage budgets, track expenses, and negotiate contracts.
- Proposals & Mood Boards: Prepare timely event proposals, including visual mood boards for clients.
- Vendor Management: Source vendors, obtain accurate cost estimates, and maintain ongoing relationships.
- Trend Awareness: Stay current on event styles and industry trends.
- Representation: Represent the Club professionally at all times.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other tasks as assigned.
Required Knowledge & Skills ✅
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Professional demeanor with high discretion, integrity, and accountability
- Punctuality and reliable attendance
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
Qualifications & Conditions 📝
- Must be at least 18 years old at the start of employment
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Hospitality, Tourism, Event Planning, Marketing, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Sales, Hospitality, Event Planning, or Management
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on game days
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Physical ability to access various areas of the ballpark, lift up to 50 pounds, and work during events
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening prior to employment
Compensation & Benefits 💰
The hourly wage range for this full-time role is $29.81 to $32.69, aligned with California's pay transparency law. Additional compensation may be achieved through a goal-based plan.
