Role Description

We are seeking a remote freelance English-Cantonese Telephonic Interpreter to join AsiaLocalize. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver accurate and culturally sensitive interpretation during three-way telephonic calls. You will support seamless communication between clients and professionals across various sectors, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Responsibilities

• Provide consecutive interpretation during telephonic sessions between English-speaking clients and Cantonese-speaking LEPs (Limited English Proficiency speakers). 🗣️
• Interpret conversations accurately across industries such as insurance, energy, and technology. 💼
• Facilitate clear and culturally sensitive communication between parties. 🌏
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality during all calls. 🔒
• Utilize our modern voice portal system to deliver high-quality interpretation services. 🎧

Qualifications

• Fluency in Cantonese and English (both spoken and written). 🗨️
• Proven experience in interpretation, with a preference for commercial or community-based interpretation. 📚
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 🤝
• Ability to manage calls efficiently under pressure while ensuring accuracy and professionalism. ⏱️
• Reliable phone line and a quiet, dedicated workspace. 📞

Must-have Qualifications

• Ability to pass a language assessment with at least a 65% score. ✅
• Completion of required training and paperwork provided by AsiaLocalize. 📝
• Availability to handle calls, especially during peak hours (11:00 AM – 6:00 PM). 🕚🕕
