Role Overview
This is a remote freelance position for an English-Cantonese Telephonic Interpreter with AsiaLocalize. The interpreter will deliver accurate and culturally appropriate interpretation during 3-party telephonic calls, ensuring seamless communication between clients and Limited English Proficiency speakers across various industries, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.🎧
Responsibilities
- 🔹 Provide consecutive interpretation during telephonic sessions between English-speaking clients and Cantonese-speaking LEPs.
- 🔹 Interpret conversations accurately across industries such as insurance, energy, and technology.
- 🔹 Facilitate clear communication while maintaining cultural sensitivity.
- 🔹 Uphold professionalism and confidentiality in every call.
- 🔹 Use our modern voice portal system to deliver high-quality interpretation services.
Qualifications
- 🔹 Fluency in both Cantonese and English (spoken and written).
- 🔹 Proven interpretation experience (commercial or community-based preferred).
- 🔹 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- 🔹 Ability to manage calls under pressure with accuracy and professionalism.
- 🔹 Reliable phone line and a quiet workspace.
Must-have Qualifications
- 🔹 Pass a language assessment with a minimum score of 65%.
- 🔹 Complete required training and paperwork provided by AsiaLocalize.
- 🔹 Availability to handle calls, especially during peak hours (11:00 AM – 6:00 PM).
