The Role 🎯

We seek a motivated Elementary Special Education Teacher to deliver engaging, standards-based instruction, utilize Responsive Classroom techniques, and monitor student progress. Collaboration with colleagues to refine teaching practices is essential. No Hebrew language skills required—a diverse community benefits everyone!

What You’ll Do 📝

  • Commit yourself to high academic standards for all students, believing in their potential to learn
  • Engage in professional growth through self-reflection and feedback
  • Provide instructional services aligned with students' IEPs in reading, math, and writing
  • Deliver prescribed instructional methods based on IEPs
  • Collaborate with staff and coordinate efforts for student success
  • Communicate progress and conduct conferences with parents
  • Maintain an organized classroom conducive to learning
  • Support students in preparing for the NYS State Exam
  • Develop multifaceted, integrated curricula to meet diverse needs
  • Differentiate instruction through modifications and innovative strategies
  • Set and implement goals during the IEP process
  • Track and report student progress accurately and consistently
  • Review data regularly and adjust your approach accordingly
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities
  • Attend IEP meetings and parent conferences
  • Build strong relationships with students and families to foster investment
  • Fulfill professional responsibilities with timely meeting of deadlines and collaborative teamwork

Who You Are 🧑‍🎓

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required; Master’s preferred
  • Experience in urban, public charter, or Title I schools is a plus
  • NY teacher certification or working towards it is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Legally authorized to work in the USA
