Position Overview ➡️

Position Objective: This role centers instruction around high expectations for student achievement by establishing a positive learning culture, communicating clearly with students, and engaging learners effectively.

Key Duties & Responsibilities 📋

  • Demonstrate effective teaching practices through questioning, discussion, and reflection.
  • Recognize and address individual student learning needs with flexible and responsive strategies based on knowledge of students.
  • Deliver clear, intentional instruction rooted in content knowledge, setting measurable learning outcomes, utilizing resources, and designing coherent lessons.
  • Maintain a safe and positive classroom environment built on respect and rapport, managing procedures and student behavior successfully.
  • Use multiple data points to adapt instruction, design assessments, and maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with parents and the broader school community.
  • Engage in collaborative practices aimed at improving instruction and student success.
  • Participate in professional communities, demonstrating ongoing growth and professionalism.
  • Set annual student growth goals to monitor and promote progress over time.
  • Supervise assigned non-certificated personnel activities.
  • Attend all required staff meetings and activities for professional development and district objectives.
  • Deliver high-quality instruction using differentiated and data-driven strategies.
  • Contribute to site-based decision-making processes.
  • 📝 Korean language instruction will comprise 20% - 50% of the instructional day.

Reporting Relationships 🧑‍💼

This position reports directly to and is supervised by the Building Administrator.

Education & Experience 🎓

  • Required: Fluency in Korean.
  • Desired: Previous teaching experience in Korean language.

Licensing & Certification 📜

  • Required: Valid Washington state teaching certification with endorsement in Elementary Education or eligibility for immediate issuance.
  • Preferred: Designated World Language endorsement. Candidates without this endorsement will be required to complete it upon employment.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions 🚶‍♂️🤝

Positions may involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), finger dexterity, communication, and visual tasks. Extended exposure to visual displays and potential environmental hazards (odors, chemicals, noise, extreme temperatures) are possible.

Work Intensity: Medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.

Conditions of Employment 🔄

This posting serves for one or more teaching openings, which may be full-time or part-time, filled as needed.

Salary Range: $73,990 – $138,754 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance at .45 FTE; retirement through the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems.
