About The Role
The Electrical Lead at GTI Fabrication's Buffalo manufacturing plant is responsible for directing all electrical activities on-site. This includes supporting new construction projects and maintaining manufacturing equipment, energy systems, and facility infrastructure. Supervising a team of electricians and technicians, you will work closely with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all codes and standards. Your efforts will be key in reducing downtime, enhancing system reliability, and supporting continuous production operations.
📝 Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program
- Valid electrician license or certification in accordance with New York State requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Experience supervising or leading electricians in an industrial setting
- Strong knowledge of NEC and OSHA safety standards
- Fluency in Arabic to facilitate communication with Arabic-speaking clients, vendors, and team members
🎯 Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Experience with industrial manufacturing equipment, motor controls, and power distribution
- Knowledge of PLCs, automation, and industrial control systems
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs
- Experience working with electrical schematics, digital documentation, and CMMS systems
- Project management experience or certification (PMP is a plus)
🔑 Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and supervise electricians and technicians within the facility
- Plan, schedule, and assign electrical tasks supporting production, maintenance, and capital projects
- Ensure all electrical work complies with NEC, OSHA, and company safety policies
- Troubleshoot complex electrical issues related to equipment and facility systems
- Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems
- Collaborate across teams to minimize downtime and meet operational goals
- Train team members on safety practices, procedures, and technical skills
- Maintain accurate documentation, including work orders, safety records, and compliance reports
- Manage electrical materials, tools, and inventory for efficiency and cost control
