📝 Job Summary
The Jump! Immersion Elementary Grade Teacher is responsible for implementing daily lesson plans, maintaining positive classroom management, and creating a nourishing and safe environment for students. You will foster the intellectual, social, and emotional development of young children in alignment with our school curriculum, the target language (Mandarin), and New Jersey educational standards. Embracing the Jump! Immersion philosophy, you will create a dynamic learning experience emphasizing language acquisition and personal growth.
🎯 Primary Responsibilities
- Student Supervision: Supervising children at all times to ensure safety, following all center policies and procedures.
- Relationship Building: Developing a loving, positive rapport with students to foster a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment.
- Positive Reinforcement: Applying positive reinforcement techniques consistent with the Jump! philosophy to build confidence and a growth mindset.
- Lesson Planning & Delivery: Creating engaging language immersion lessons using the Total Physical Response (TPR) approach, aligned with NJ State Standards.
- Social/Emotional Development: Supporting students’ social, emotional, and academic growth through structured activities, routines, and interactions.
- Assessments: Conducting formal and informal assessments, adjusting lesson plans to meet individual learning needs.
- Differentiated Instruction: Designing activities tailored to diverse learning styles, abilities, and proficiency levels.
- Individualized Support: Developing and implementing personalized action plans for students needing additional assistance.
- Technology Integration: Incorporating educational technology (apps, interactive whiteboards) to enhance engagement.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintaining records, updating student portfolios, report cards, and tracking progress, attendance, and incidents.
- Parent Communication: Engaging with parents and guardians via in-person meetings, emails, and newsletters to keep them informed.
- Family Engagement: Organizing family involvement in school events, visits, and cultural activities.
- Child Protection: Using proper procedures to report suspicions of abuse or neglect, ensuring student safety.
- Daily Operations: Managing sign-in/out procedures, incident reporting, and health log completion.
- Classroom Maintenance: Keeping classroom organized, stocked, and clean, managing supplies and equipment.
- Teamwork & Support: Collaborating with colleagues to support center activities and events.
- Emergency Procedures: Staying updated on safety protocols and first aid procedures.
- Professional Attire: Adhering to the school's dress code while maintaining comfort and professionalism.

💰 Compensation & Work Location
- Pay: $53,000.00 - $55,500.00 per year
