Position Overview 🌟
We are seeking a Lead Teacher or Co-Teacher to join our Early Childhood team. This role involves designing engaging, play-based learning experiences, building strong relationships with children and families, and contributing to a nurturing, child-centered environment. The position follows the school calendar, including summer, winter breaks, federal, and Jewish holidays.
Responsibilities 🔍
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum supporting social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and creative development 🧠🎨
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture aligned with Jewish values and practices ✡️
- Observe and document children's progress; use observations to guide planning and communication with families 📝
- Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating learning environment 🚸
- Collaborate with co-teachers, assistants, and administrators to ensure consistency and support across the program 🤝
- Establish strong, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues ❤️
- Communicate regularly with families through newsletters, conferences, and informal updates 📧
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development 📚
- Ensure compliance with all licensing and safety requirements 🔒
Qualifications ✅
- Experience working in early childhood education (preschool or toddler classrooms) 🧸
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and child-centered teaching 🧠
- Commitment to anti-bias, inclusive education 🤝
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills 💬
- Reliable, flexible, and eager to grow professionally 🌱
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain (assistance provided) ❤️🩹
- Must pass background checks and meet WA State licensing standards 🔎
- STARS/MERIT training is a plus ✨
Compensation & Benefits 💼
- Competitive hourly pay: $21–$25/hour based on experience and qualifications 💵
- $500 sign-on bonus (paid after 90 days of employment) 🎉
