Role Overview

Under the supervision of the Administrative Officer and with guidance from the transport focal point (Dispatcher), the Driver (G-2) will provide dependable and safe driving services. This role demands professionalism, discretion, integrity, thorough knowledge of protocol, and strict adherence to local driving laws. The Driver should have a client-focused approach, high responsibility levels, courtesy, tact, and the ability to work effectively with diverse backgrounds.

How Can You Make a Difference? 🚦

You will support UNICEF’s mission by:

  • Providing reliable and safe driving services for staff and officials: Transporting UN staff, officials, visitors, and handling mail, documents, or other items.
  • Assisting with official procedures: Meeting personnel and visitors at the airport and helping with visa and customs formalities.
  • Vehicle maintenance: Ensuring vehicles are well-maintained, handling minor repairs, scheduling major repairs, and managing logs for cost-efficiency.
  • Documentation: Keeping vehicle-related documents such as insurance, registration, logs, and spare parts, and managing related formalities.

Qualifications & Skills 🎓🚗

Qualifications:

  • Secondary education required; valid driver’s license (C1 and D)
  • At least two years of professional driving experience
  • Experience with international organizations, embassies, or UN system preferred
  • Fluency in Arabic and English; knowledge of Hebrew is an asset

Skills & Competencies:

  • Good knowledge of the city, roads, and driving conditions
  • Understanding of driving rules, protocols, and courtesies
  • Ability to perform minor vehicle repairs
  • Patience and tactful communication with visitors
  • High confidentiality, initiative, and sound judgment
  • Effective teamwork skills across diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
