Position Overview & Responsibilities 📝

Role Summary:

  • Assess driving skills for G2, G, M2, M, and controlled class (ABZ) applicants
  • Provide licensing information and resolve licensing issues
  • Conduct examinations including road tests, controlled class tests, and assessments for individuals with special needs or disabilities
  • Ensure a fair testing environment that allows candidates to perform at their best

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service during all driver examination interactions
  • Respond to inquiries related to driver licensing, including test procedures and license classifications
  • Verify candidate identity verbally by confirming full name and date of birth
  • Examine applicants through road tests, observing compliance with traffic laws and safe driving practices
  • Provide detailed examination results, including areas for improvement
  • Complete evaluation forms and enter results into the system
  • Attend testing points as required to deliver services
  • Assess riding habits, skills, and ability for M2, M, and controlled class tests
  • Conduct testing for individuals with special needs or disabilities
  • Follow all regulations, policies, and safety procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the position
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned

  • Maintain a safe, healthy workspace at DriveTest Centres and travel points
  • Use all required safety equipment and protective devices
  • Stay informed on legislative, regulatory, and policy updates
  • Report unsafe conditions proactively
  • Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)

Additional Duties & Training 🎓

  • Follow Serco Canada Inc. policies and procedures
  • Participate in security measures and required training, including IDEC testing and ongoing certification
  • Support special projects as needed

Qualifications & Certifications ✅

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Fluent in both French and English
  • Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license
  • Minimum of four years driving experience, verified via license issue date
  • Valid Class M and/or controlled class license (if applicable)
  • Maximum of four demerit points and three violations during employment

Knowledge, Skills & Experience 📚

  • Understanding of the DriveTest program, legislation, and regulations (preferred)
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • At least 2 years of demonstrated excellent customer service experience

  • Ability to multitask and manage sensitive information
  • Deep knowledge of Highway Traffic Act and related policies
  • Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities

  • Clear communication and feedback delivery

  • Moderate physical and mental activity, including driving and assessments
  • Exposure to weather and vehicle conditions
  • Extended working hours, including evenings, weekends, depending on demand
  • Participation in training and shadowing programs
