Russian Distance Learning Associate Language Instructor

Summary

The Russian Distance Learning Associate Language Instructor will support live virtual instruction and program services for foreign language, regional expertise, and cultural education. This role involves delivering language instruction, developing learning materials, and fostering a positive virtual learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Language Instruction: Deliver virtual lessons to enhance proficiency across Listening, Reading, and Speaking skills, measured by standardized tests like DLPT, ACTFL, or OPI.
• Regional and Cultural Education: Conduct virtual lessons on regional topics and cultures using modern, blended learning methodologies.
• Lesson Planning: Develop and adapt lesson plans and materials based on designated Program of Instruction (POI) and student needs.
• Assessment & Feedback: Review, correct, and grade assignments; provide constructive feedback to students.
• Classroom Environment: Maintain a professional, engaging, and positive virtual learning space, addressing behavior and attendance concerns with the site lead.
• Collaboration: Work with Site Leads, POI analysts, and Language Instructional Developers to address curriculum gaps and improve instruction.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen
• Native or near-native proficiency in the foreign language, with ILR level 3/3/3 or equivalent in Listening, Reading, and Speaking
• Experience delivering virtual foreign language instruction across different levels
• Strong understanding of the cultural, social, and political contexts of the language region
• Ability to create and adapt blended learning lessons to meet client needs
• Access to a Windows computer, webcam, headset with microphone, phone or tablet, and high-speed internet

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with online learning platforms such as CL-150 or Blackboard
• Bachelor’s Degree
