Position Overview: Persian Farsi Distance Learning Associate Language Instructor

This remote position supports live virtual foreign language, regional expertise, and cultural instruction, contributing to national security and cultural understanding initiatives. 🌍

Primary Location

• Remote (with support support at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA 98433, US)

Key Responsibilities

• Language Instruction: Deliver virtual lessons to enhance proficiency in Listening, Reading, and Speaking (L/R/S), measured by DLPT, ACTFL, or OPI standards.
• Cultural and Regional Subjects: Provide instruction on regional and cultural topics using modern communicative and blended-learning methods.
• Lesson Planning: Develop, review, and adapt lesson plans and materials based on the Program of Instruction (POI) and student needs.
• Assessment & Feedback: Grade assignments, provide feedback, and assess student progress across levels from ILR 0+ to 3.
• Class Environment: Maintain a positive, professional virtual learning environment and address student behavior or attendance issues as needed.
• Collaboration: Work with site leads, POI analysts, and instructional developers to identify curriculum gaps and improve delivery.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen 🇺🇸
• Native or near-native speaker with ILR 3/3/3 or equivalent in listening, reading, and speaking.
• Experience delivering virtual foreign language instruction.
• Deep understanding of the cultural, social, and political landscape of the language region.
• Ability to create and adapt blended learning lessons tailored to student needs.
• Access to a Windows computer, webcam, headset with microphone, phone or tablet, and high-speed internet.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with online platforms such as CL-150 or Blackboard.
• Bachelor’s Degree 🎓
