About the Role: Director of Development
The Director of Development (DoD) will report to the U.S. Director and collaborate closely with the Executive Director, Director of Strategic Relations, and colleagues across the U.S. and Middle East. This role involves creating and executing a strategic development plan aligned with organizational growth objectives to diversify and expand funding sources, primarily focusing on individual donors, foundations, and partner organizations.
Approximately 75% of the DoD's efforts will be dedicated to engaging major, mid-level, and smaller donors. The ideal candidate is an expert communicator, a proven team leader, and adept at working within multi-cultural, global teams to foster relationships and secure funding in a complex environment. 🗣️🤝

Founded in 2004, ALLMEP is the largest and fastest-growing network of Palestinian and Israeli peacebuilders. Based in Washington, D.C., with offices across Europe, Israel, and Palestine, it serves as a global hub advocating for peace and cooperation.
Our coalition includes over 180 organizations, reaching hundreds of thousands of Palestinians and Israelis, striving for a lasting, sustainable peace. Our team develops partnerships, incentivizes cooperation, and amplifies impact through strategic advocacy and programming. To date, we have secured over $380 million in government and international support, with ongoing initiatives such as the upcoming convening in 2026 to establish an International Fund for Israeli-Palestinian Peace. 🌟✌️
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a proactive strategic development plan in collaboration with senior leadership, focusing on donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Leverage the engagement of ALLMEP’s global board of directors to meet development goals.
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 100 major and mid-level donors and prospects alongside the executive team.
- Expand prospect pools with effective identification and cultivation strategies.
- Assist in grant writing, solicitation, and stewardship for 20-30 foundations and corporations, working closely with the Director of Strategic Relations.
- Drive prospecting efforts to grow the major gift donor base and elevate ALLMEP’s visibility in the U.S.
- Organize local U.S. trips and fundraising events.
- Coordinate with communications teams to create fundraising materials, reports, and outreach content such as overviews, concept notes, and one-pagers.
- Represent ALLMEP to donors, prospective donors, and institutional partners virtually and in person in the U.S.
- Support ALLMEP members with development inquiries and strategic advice.
- Oversee CRM (EveryAction) use and maintenance, ensuring accurate and current donor records.
- Foster a collaborative and healthy fundraising culture across the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of successful fundraising experience in the nonprofit sector, particularly in major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
- Strong relational skills to build and nurture long-term donor relationships with tailored cultivation strategies.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate the organization's case for support convincingly.
- Financial acumen with familiarity in nonprofit budgeting and financial management.
- Outstanding writing and editing abilities.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently within North America and periodically to the Middle East (10-15%).
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Israeli/Palestinian history, politics, and society or regional experience.
- Understanding of the philanthropic environment surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and diaspora communities in the U.S.
- Language skills in Arabic and/or Hebrew are a plus.
