  • Supervise Staff & Oversee Hiring: Recruit, onboard, and support a team of 40 part-time teachers and tutors. Supervise administrative staff, conduct weekly classroom observations, and provide feedback.
  • Manage Operations & Budget: Ensure smooth daily operations, manage the annual budget, and achieve enrollment and revenue targets.
  • Oversee Curriculum: Review and guide lesson planning aligned with JCP’s learner-centered, inquiry-based approach. Support differentiated instruction for diverse learners.
  • Family & Community Engagement: Act as the primary liaison to parents and lay leaders. Support the Parent Association and cultivate community initiatives.
  • Program Management: Oversee traditions like Hanukkah parties and Purim Shpiel, and lead grade-specific events, Shabbat celebrations, field trips, and enrichment programs. Support the b’nai mitzvah process collaboratively with clergy, families, and tutors.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with clergy, development, events, and other departments to integrate HSP into the broader organizational life.

How Your Success Will Be Measured

  • Being a trusted and responsive leader among families, staff, and colleagues 🏅
  • Maintaining smooth daily operations with minimal crises and effective conflict resolution
  • Meeting enrollment and budget goals 🎯
  • Fostering high staff morale and low turnover
  • Ensuring high satisfaction levels among students, families, and teachers
  • Successfully implementing key new initiatives 🚀

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years managing and supervising teams, preferably in Jewish educational settings; experience working with children (ages 3–18) and their families; familiarity with neurodiverse learners and individualized learning needs.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Google Suite, strong Hebrew language skills (both written and verbal), solid Jewish literacy across denominations, public speaking, and leadership presence. Deep understanding of child development and relationship-building skills.
  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, flexible, open-minded, warm, collaborative, and community-driven ❤️
