About the Position

Hourly Pay Range: $19.89 - $28.84 - The pay rate depends on your expertise and experience.

Location: Northwest Community Hospital - Arlington Heights

Position Type: Full Time | 40 hours/week | Monday - Friday, Days

What You Will Do

  • Assist the Clinical Director and staff dentist or hygienists during chair side procedures.
  • Perform clerical duties such as ordering supplies, patient registration, appointment scheduling, and data entry.
  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary supplies, instruments, and equipment.
  • Take dental radiographs under the dentist/hygienist’s supervision, ensuring patient safety, and record data accurately.
  • Hand instruments and supplies to clinicians during procedures.
  • Clean and sterilize dental instruments following OSHA guidelines and prepare rooms for the next patient.
  • Register and schedule appointments for multiple dentists and hygienists to ensure smooth clinic operations.
  • Communicate with patients to schedule, confirm, and obtain information, updating the dental software system accordingly.
  • Order dental and office supplies under the manager’s guidance.
  • Assist with billing and printing discharge summaries, handling payments and receipts.
  • Support the School Oral Health Program by managing student paperwork, scheduling, and data entry.
  • Train non-licensed volunteers, including students and volunteer dental assistants.
  • Assist in patient sedation post-training and educate patients on oral hygiene practices.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures to ensure safety and quality of care.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in Spanish – required
  • Education: High school diploma
  • Experience: Minimum one year in chair side dental assisting, familiar with dental software, instrumentation, sterilization, and infection control techniques
  • Skills: Computer proficiency and familiarity with various software packages
  • License: Valid Illinois driver’s license and access to transportation for multiple locations
