We are seeking a dedicated Customer Service Associate I to handle patient inquiries with professionalism and care, ensuring exceptional service and support in a healthcare environment.

Job Overview

A Customer Service Associate I manages inbound and outbound calls to assist patients with billing questions, complaints, and requests. Utilizing comprehensive knowledge of the Revenue Service Organization, the caregiver provides accurate information, resolves issues effectively, and strives to elevate patient satisfaction.

Important Notes

  • Work Flexibility: We offer flexible work options (where approved), but currently not considering candidates residing in California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, or Colorado (for remote caregivers not based in Colorado).
  • Interview Process: A video interview via Microsoft Teams is required, along with potential onsite meetings.

Essential Functions

  • Provide coverage for all incoming patient calls and inquiries.
  • Use various computer systems to resolve billing questions and document patient interactions.
  • Communicate with patients over the phone or electronically to resolve inquiries and complaints in a friendly, patient-centered manner.
  • Negotiate payment arrangements, set up payment plans, and educate patients on financial assistance programs to resolve their financial liability.
  • Achieve productivity and quality metrics, including first contact resolution goals.
  • Promote and embody the mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health while adhering to service standards.

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience in customer service, collections, or a call center environment
  • Knowledge of excellent customer service behaviors
  • Basic computer skills

Compensation

Customer Service Associate Bilingual Pay Rate: $19.29 - $24.99 per hour

Bilingual Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in customer service, collections, or call centers (2+ years preferred)
  • Bilingual certification through Alta Language Testing
  • Basic healthcare billing, insurance, and processing knowledge (preferred)

Physical & Role Requirements

  • Ability to see, read information, and operate equipment accurately
  • Frequent verbal communication with providers, colleagues, patients, and visitors
  • Manual dexterity for handling delicate equipment and computer tasks
  • Ability to drive if the role entails driving, including reading traffic signals and signs

Work Location & Schedule

  • Location: Peaks Regional Office
  • City: Broomfield
  • State: Colorado
  • Hours per week: 40
  • Hourly Rate: $19.29 - $24.99 (dependent on experience)
