About the Role 📝
This team supports Japanese corporate clients conducting business across the Americas. Your main responsibilities will include credit risk management, collaborating with Account Officers, analyzing credit information, preparing documentation, and assisting in relationship management and non-credit business promotion.
Responsibilities 📋
General Responsibilities
- Financial statement analysis of borrowers and parent companies
- Prepare credit applications such as new submissions, renewals, amendments, and extensions
- Handle applications related to non-credit services like fee waivers and daylight overdrafts
- Perform credit ratings for borrowers and facilities
- Conduct credit monitoring, including covenant checks
- Assess asset quality
- Manage relationships and promote non-credit services with clients
- Gather information on clients’ businesses, industries, and market competitors
- Communicate with clients for requests and inquiries
- Coordinate with other Mizuho offices regarding clients and business strategies
- Maintain and update credit files
- Prepare for regulatory exams and audits
- Draft credit and non-credit documentation
- Arrange client meetings and other events
- Perform additional duties as assigned by managers
Compliance Responsibilities
- Understand applicable rules and regulations governing the bank
- Consult the Legal & Compliance Department for clarifications
- Attend Annual Compliance Training
- Respond to compliance-related communications and adhere to the Bank’s Code of Conduct
Requirements ✅
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics
- Experience in banking, rating agencies, or other financial institutions preferred
- Bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English (verbal and written) required
- Experience with financial statements, cash flow, or credit analysis highly desirable
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
- Legal authorization to work in the US
Compensation & Benefits 💰
The typical base salary ranges from $90,000 to $100,000. Salary offers are based on skills, experience, education, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees are eligible for a discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits package.
