Job Summary
This role is responsible for establishing and leading the North American cost analysis function, including building, developing, and mentoring a high-performing team with a strong focus on accuracy, accountability, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Establish and lead the North American cost analysis team. Recruit, train, and mentor cost analysts.
- Culture Development: Foster a high-performance environment emphasizing accuracy, accountability, and collaboration.
- Cost Management & Analysis: Lead cost target setting and RFQ cost calculations for new business pursuits. Track and report program profitability throughout the product lifecycle.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, purchasing, and operations to analyze BOM structures, materials, logistics, labor, and overhead costs.
- Cost Optimization: Support value engineering efforts and cost optimization initiatives.
- Financial Interface & Data Translation: Act as the primary financial contact with cross-functional teams, translating technical data into actionable cost insights.
- Commercial Support: Assist in negotiations by providing accurate cost data.
- Regional Processes & Systems: Establish regional cost analysis procedures based on benchmarks from global offices, customizing tools to meet North American needs while aligning with global standards.
- Reporting & Analysis: Develop cost models, tracking systems, and reporting structures. Provide timely insights on performance, risks, and opportunities to leadership.
- Strategic Involvement: Engage in strategic discussions with data-driven insights to guide decision-making.
Required Skills & Qualifications

- Attention to Detail: Demonstrate meticulousness in analysis and reporting.
- Communication Skills: Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Reliability: Dependable with reliable transportation.
Education & Experience
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Accounting, or related; MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 10 years in cost or program finance within automotive or manufacturing sectors.
- Leadership: At least 3 years of proven leadership, hiring, mentoring, and managing teams.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of manufacturing costs including BOM, labor, overhead, and logistics.
- Technical Skills: Advanced financial modeling expertise, proficiency in Excel, and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Cross-cultural & Global Collaboration: Experience working with international teams and navigating cultural differences.
- Additional Skills: Korean language skills and flexibility for domestic and international travel are a plus.
Physical & Work Environment
- Physical Demands: Occasional or frequent moderate physical activities required.
- Hours of Work: Approximately 40 hours per week.
- Work Environment: Office setting with a typical interior environment, free from hazards.
- Travel: Occasional international and frequent local travel for collaboration and project needs.
