About the Role
This position is ideal for a builder—a strategic culinary executive capable of elevating standards, fostering leadership, strengthening operational systems, and guiding the organization toward sustainable growth. The Director of Culinary Operations will work directly with ownership to transform culinary vision into scalable systems, develop strong teams, and ensure exceptional execution across multiple locations.
Strategic Leadership Responsibilities
Culinary Vision & Program Architecture 🎯
- Design comprehensive culinary programs, from initial menu concepts to execution standards at each store
- Lead seasonal menu strategies and manage product lifecycle planning
- Establish recipe standards, execution protocols, and presentation expectations that support growth
Organizational Leadership & Talent Development 🌟
- Identify, recruit, mentor, and develop Executive Chefs and Kitchen Managers for future locations
- Implement performance accountability structures across culinary teams
- Cultivate a culture rooted in ownership, high standards, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Operational Excellence & Infrastructure 🚧
- Build systems to ensure consistent kitchen operations
- Standardize training processes, onboarding frameworks, and culinary SOPs
- Support the successful rollout of new menus, initiatives, and operational enhancements
Financial Performance 💰
- Manage culinary-related P&L across all locations
- Optimize food costs, labor efficiency, and production workflows
- Develop strategic vendor partnerships aligned with quality and margin goals
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Culinary Director or in similar leadership roles
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, kitchen equipment, and food prep procedures
- Experience in managing and developing culinary staff effectively
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred 🗣️
- Familiarity with Italian cooking techniques and recipes is a plus 🇮🇹
