Current Opportunity: Bilingual Community Service Aide
We are hiring a Bilingual Community Service Aide to join our Linkages to Learning team. This role provides vital support as an administrative and programmatic assistant to the Family Case Manager and Mental Health Therapist at Georgian Forest Elementary School and/or Kemp Mill Elementary School in Silver Spring, MD.
- Part-Time: 20 hours per week at either Georgian Forest or Kemp Mill
- Full-Time: 40 hours per week, split equally between Georgian Forest and Kemp Mill
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Initial Contact Point: Serve as the first access point for families inquiring about Linkages to Learning programs and services.
- Resource Assistance: Help facilitate resources for families’ food, clothing, housing, and other needs.
- Program Support: Assist with after-school, evening, and summer programs, workshops, groups, holiday gift drives, and special projects like school supply distributions.
- Childcare Coordination: Provide childcare during meetings and coordinate care for events.
- Waitlist Management: Manage waitlists for Family Case Manager and Child & Family Therapist services.
- Translation Support: Offer translation and interpretation assistance to staff members.
- Budget Management: Oversee funds within assigned categories.
- Family Support: Track and distribute bus tokens, cab vouchers, and emergency food deliveries.
- Mental Wellness Support: Assist with care management and mental health support as needed.
- Client Follow-Up: Contact clients for appointment reminders and schedule changes.
- Confidentiality: Maintain client confidentiality per organizational policies.
- Policy Adherence: Follow EveryMind and Youth and Family Services division policies.
- Representation: Professionally represent EveryMind and the Linkages to Learning program, treating all stakeholders with respect.
- Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Supervision Details
- Supervisors: Receives onsite task assignments from Family Case Manager and Mental Health Therapist.
- Supervision Level: Receives direct supervision from the Manager, School Based Services.
Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
Experience working in community settings is preferred.
Skills
- Strong organizational and listening skills
- Bilingual in Spanish is mandatory

- Communicate ideas clearly, confidently, and sensitively
- Maintain client confidentiality per organizational and federal standards
Physical and Other Requirements
The role involves frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 35 pounds, and performing activities requiring good vision and focus. Due to the sensitive nature of the work, applicants with recent trauma or suicidality history are advised to consider if this role is suitable for them.
Background Checks: Must pass criminal background, child abuse, and credit checks as applicable. All staff must be free from illegal substances and alcohol abuse, with full capacity to perform duties.
Working Conditions: Primarily on-site during standard hours (9am-5pm M-F) with some flexibility. May include evening or weekend hours and travel to different locations, requiring reliable transportation.
