Position: Community Engagement Outreach Coordinator
Salary: $48,750 per year
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM, with flexibility for weekends and evenings for community events

The Esperanza Center is a comprehensive resource hub dedicated to welcoming immigrants with compassionate services aimed at improving lives. Since 1963, our trusted staff and volunteers have provided education, healthcare, legal assistance, family reunification, and community support to thousands of immigrants annually.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Representation & Advocacy: Serve as a professional ambassador for Esperanza Center at civic and community engagement events.
- Relationship Building: Develop partnerships with universities, healthcare providers, faith organizations, and community service agencies to boost volunteer engagement and collaboration.
- Project Coordination: Oversee group service projects aligning volunteer efforts with organizational priorities in collaboration with leadership.
- Social Media & Outreach: Support the development of engaging content through participation in agency social media committees.
- Fostering Culture: Create an inclusive, welcoming environment where volunteers and partners feel valued and connected.
- Volunteer Engagement Plan: Develop and execute an annual plan focusing on recruitment, onboarding, training, recognition, and retention across communities and the Center.
- Volunteer Training & Records: Plan on-site training sessions and maintain volunteer records using systems like Better Impact, producing reports to evaluate and improve programs.
- Volunteer Placement & Management: Strategically match volunteers to programs based on skills and interests, providing ongoing communication, supervision, and recognition.
- Event Planning & Coordination: Partner with the Program Director to organize key engagement events such as Volunteer Appreciation Day and other specialty events, managing logistics from donations to post-event evaluations.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related activities as assigned.
Experience & Skills Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years in community engagement, volunteer coordination, outreach, or partnership development.
- Language Skills: Bilingual in Spanish and English for effective communication with diverse populations.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written abilities.
- Reliability & Professionalism: Punctuality, accountability, discretion, and professionalism in all interactions.
- Interpersonal Skills: Courteous, compassionate, and effective relationship-building with staff, clients, and visitors.
- Organizational Skills: Strong planning, task execution, and recordkeeping skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, database management systems like Better Impact.
- Leadership & Critical Thinking: Ability to influence, motivate, and problem-solve within a team setting.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- No remote or hybrid work options; work requires presence at the Center or event sites.
- Flexibility needed for extended hours, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Ability to stand, sit, and move between sites, lifting objects up to 20 pounds.
- Effective communication skills for verbal and written interactions.
- Repetitive motions and ergonomic considerations involved in data handling.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, be at least 21 years old with 2+ years of driving experience, and have a clean driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, with appropriate protective gear when needed.
