Role Overview ✨
We are seeking passionate CLASS Classroom Observers to conduct observations in Pre-Kindergarten classrooms for the 2026 OSSE project. Observers should be certified or willing to train and become certified in the CLASS tool for their assigned age level. Maintaining certification and participating in calibration are required throughout the project.
This is a contract position with travel expectations of up to one hour each way for observations. Overnight travel is not required, but opportunities may arise.

Role Description & Availability 📅
Observers should:
- Be available to conduct 3-5 observations per week between January 2026 and June 2026.
- Attend mandatory project-specific training sessions, whose dates will be scheduled during the project.
- Participate in weekly check-in meetings throughout the project.
- Complete data entry and follow-up tasks promptly after each observation.
Certification, Fidelity & Data Collection ✅
- Hold current Pre-K CLASS certification or be willing to attend virtual training and pass an online test.
- Participate in ongoing calibration sessions as directed by project leadership.
- Complete post-observation data entry within 24 hours.
- Adhere to all observation protocols, from training and certification to data collection and record-keeping.
- Interact professionally with school staff and administrators.
- Use online tools such as Slack and Bill.com for communication and invoicing (training provided).
You Bring 💼
- Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Education, or a related field.
- Fluency in English, Spanish, French, Amharic, Hebrew, or Mandarin.
- Experience using the CLASS tool for live observations preferred.
- Experience conducting assessments or observations in school settings preferred.
- Experience with data collection (quantitative or qualitative).
- Strong attention to detail, punctuality, and organization skills.
Compensation 💰
Earn $300–350 per observation, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
