Position Summary

We are currently looking for a Chinese Language Instructor to support an upcoming government contract. *This contract is pending award.

Requirements

Essential Responsibilities

  • Teach adult professional students using current strategies that address diverse adult learner differences such as age, gender, education, experience, motivation, rank, socioeconomic status, and personal history.
  • Deliver instruction and conduct assessments across proficiency levels from ILR level 0 through ILR Level 3+.
  • Adapt authentic materials or modify traditional language resources, utilizing the Interagency Language Roundtable Language Skill Level Descriptions to customize curricula.
  • Incorporate audio, video, and computer-assisted multimedia into lessons for an engaging classroom experience.
  • Teach and explain cultural, technical, and military concepts, vocabulary, and terminology relevant to each lesson plan.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years’ experience teaching a foreign language.
  • Bachelor’s degree in language instruction or related social science fields such as History, Political Science, International Relations, Anthropology, Archeology, or Cultural Geography.
  • Experience in Instructional Design or certification in Instructional Systems Development (ISD).
  • Strong regional expertise and knowledge of foreign language teaching methodologies and instructional systems.
  • In-depth understanding of learning theories, educational psychology, and instructional product development.
  • Proficiency with web-based, interactive course delivery systems.
  • Experience facilitating instructor development and faculty training.
  • Skill in multimedia design and delivery, including embedded video instruction.
  • Competency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Adobe Acrobat Professional, and other productivity tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching foreign languages to military students.

Work Environment & Compensation

Work Schedule: Typically 9-5 or as required by the client.

Pay Range: Competitive, determined by factors such as education, experience, location, and market data.
