Job Overview

As a Linguist supporting a US Government client, you will utilize your expertise in Chinese and Cantonese languages and cultures to translate and interpret various materials into English, ensuring accuracy and cultural relevance.

Key Responsibilities 📝

• Gist, summarize, and translate Chinese and Cantonese printed, electronic, or audio/visual materials into clear, idiomatic English.
• Leverage cultural, media, and language knowledge to effectively answer client inquiries.
• Follow client style and translation standards to produce consistent, high-quality products.
• Utilize client-specific tools and workflows efficiently.
• Meet tight deadlines, including same-day turnarounds.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements ✔️

• High School Diploma with at least three years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency level of at least 4/4+ (ILR) in Chinese and Cantonese, verified by standardized language exams during the application process.
• Expertise related to regions where Chinese and Cantonese are natively spoken.
• Experience with open source research, social media collection, analysis, and dissemination.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Excel, and Word.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively in a virtual environment.
• Strong time and task management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications ✔️

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Experience supporting the Intelligence Community (IC).
