Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM ⏰
Compensation: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour, depending on experience 💰

Somos Early Learning is a nurturing preschool dedicated to providing high-quality care and engaging learning experiences for young children. We are seeking an organized and proactive Director Assistant to support our team and ensure the smooth operation of our center.
Position Overview
The Administrative Assistant will play a vital role in the daily administrative operations of the center. Candidates should be tech-savvy, detail-oriented, and experienced with financial and childcare management tools such as QuickBooks and Brightwheel.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily administrative tasks: filing, scheduling, answering phones, responding to emails 📞💻
- Process tuition payments, track expenses, and maintain financial records using QuickBooks 💼
- Oversee and update student records, attendance, and parent communications via Brightwheel ✏️
- Assist with enrollment, registration, and parent onboarding 🎓
- Prepare monthly reports and support audits or licensing requirements 📊
- Support staff scheduling and timesheet tracking 🕒
- Maintain office supply inventory and order supplies as needed 📝
- Provide professional and friendly communication to families and staff 🤝
- Ensure compliance with local and state childcare licensing standards ✅
Requirements
- Ability to pass a background check and meet childcare licensing criteria 🔍
- Bilingual in Spanish and English 🗣️
- Proven experience as an administrative assistant, preferably in a childcare or educational setting 🧾
- Strong written and verbal communication skills 📝🗣️
- Comfortable with digital tools and technology, including social media platforms like Facebook 📱
- High school diploma 🎓
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar software 💻
- Hands-on experience with Brightwheel or similar childcare management software 🖥️
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills ⏳
- Experience working in a childcare center or related business 🏫
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree 🎓
- Previous teaching experience in a preschool or daycare setting 🍎
