Position Summary 🎯
Chaplains are the frontline staff fulfilling the mission and Christian ministry of MCHAP, using their gifts and talents to serve company employees and their immediate families.
Type: Part-time
Locations: Athens / Bethlehem
Language Requirement: Bilingual Haitian/Creole
Essential Functions and Responsibilities 📋
- Serves as a messenger and conveyor of faith, mission, and purpose.
- Interacts with companies, employees, and the community exhibiting character through personal and spiritual disciplines.
- Makes regular visits to company worksites (typically weekly) to build trust and relationships with employees.
- Visits employees or immediate family members at hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, residences, or other sites to offer care.
- Provides confidential pastoral discussions on personal issues such as family matters, divorce, serious illness, grief, parenting, financial stress, and other life challenges.
- Offers referral services and coordinates specialized assistance for employees and their families.
- Assists in planning, conducting, or attending funerals, including follow-up support during grief.
- Makes jail visits to employees and their families when needed.
- Works with companies to notify families of death or serious injuries, offering encouragement and support.
- Provides post-termination care to laid-off or terminated employees to facilitate smooth transitions.
- Facilitates, but does not lead, spiritual enrichment activities, supporting employee-led initiatives.
- Distributes literature and resources to assist employees with personal life issues.
- Represents the company during ministry-related interactions with clients and customers, especially during serious events.
- Participates in new employee orientation to explain employee care services and chaplain roles.
- Under the approval of the Executive Director of Operations, responds to other duties and services requested by leadership, within agreement scope.

- Spiritual maturity, commitment to a Christian lifestyle, and alignment with MCHAP’s values.
- Fundamental understanding of the Holy Bible and active participation in a biblically-based church.
- Ability to interact professionally with diplomacy, patience, and courtesy, establishing effective relationships.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for interacting with leadership, colleagues, and families.
- Capacity to maintain emotional stability in human suffering and emergencies.
- Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and interpreting policies.
- Proficiency with Google Suites, Microsoft Office, internet, email, and web-based applications; adaptable to new technology.
- Active state driver’s license and current auto insurance as per state requirements.

This is a field-based, remote position; work environments include manufacturing plants, hospitals, office buildings, and funeral homes, with varying temperature, noise, and lighting conditions.
