Position Summary
Chaplains serve as frontline staff, fulfilling the mission and Christian ministry of MCHAP by utilizing their gifts and talents to serve company employees and their immediate families.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Faith & Mission: Serves as a messenger and conveyor of faith, mission, and purpose.
- Community Interaction: Engages with companies, employees, and communities in a manner that reflects character through personal and spiritual disciplines.
- Ministry Outreach:
- Makes regular visits (usually weekly) to worksites to build trusting relationships.
- Visits employees or immediate family members at hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, residences, or other settings to offer care and support.
- Provides confidential pastoral discussions on personal issues such as family matters, illness, grief, parenting, financial stress, and other life challenges.
- Acts as a referral coordinator for specialized assistance.
- Assists in planning and attending funerals, offering follow-up support during grief periods.
- Visits jail inmates when appropriate.
- Coordinates notifications of death or serious injuries, providing comfort and encouragement.
- Offers post-termination care to facilitate smooth transitions for laid-off employees.
- Facilitates spiritual enrichment activities, when sponsored and led by employees.
- Distributes literature and resources to assist employees with life issues.
- Represents the company's ministry services to clients during serious events like illness or accidents.
- Orientation & Additional Duties: Participates in new employee orientation to explain Employee Care Services. Responds to additional duties with leadership approval within scope.

- Interfaith & Interdisciplinary Skills: Able to work collaboratively across diverse lifestyles, cultures, and beliefs.
- Communication Skills: Effective listening, presentation, and diplomatic interaction with clients, families, and staff, especially under stress.
- Spiritual Maturity: Committed to a Christian lifestyle, with a solid understanding of the Holy Bible and active participation in a biblically based church. Attests to a saving faith in Jesus Christ.
- Professionalism & Confidentiality: Maintains professionalism, patience, courtesy, and discretion while fostering effective relationships.
- Communication & Stability: Excellent oral and written skills; maintains emotional stability to handle human suffering and emergencies.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze information, identify solutions, and interpret policies effectively.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Google Suites, Microsoft Office, internet, email, and web applications. Quick to adapt to new technologies.
- Licensing: Active state driver's license and minimum auto insurance coverage are required.

This is a remote, field-based position, with varying work environments depending on clients' worksites. Settings may include manufacturing facilities, hospitals, offices, or funeral homes, with differing temperature, noise, and lighting conditions. 🚗🏥
