Position Summary
Chaplains serve as the frontline representatives, fulfilling the mission and Christian ministry of MCHAP. They utilize their gifts and talents to support employees and their immediate families, embodying Christian faith and compassion.
Position Type: Part-Time
Location: Athens/Bethlehem
Language Requirement: Bilingual in Haitian/Creole
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Faith & Mission Messaging: Serve as a messenger and conveyor of faith, mission, and purpose.
- Community Interaction: Exhibit character through personal and spiritual disciplines when engaging with companies, employees, and the community.
- Ministry: Make regular visits (usually weekly) to worksites to build trusting relationships rooted in Christian faith.
- Employee & Family Support: Visit employees or their immediate family members at hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, residences, or other sites to express care and provide support.
- Pastoral Care: Offer confidential discussions on personal issues such as family matters, illnesses, grief, parenting, financial stress, and other life challenges.
- Referral & Coordination: Refer employees to specialized services and coordinate assistance for specific needs.
- Funeral & Grief Support: Assist in planning and attending funerals, and provide follow-up support during grieving periods.
- Jail & Crisis Visits: Conduct visits to jail facilities for employees or their immediate families.
- Notification & Tragedy Support: Work with companies to communicate with families during serious injuries or deaths, offering encouragement.
- Post-Employment Support: Provide care for laid-off or terminated employees to facilitate smooth transitions.
- Spiritual Activities: Facilitate, but do not lead, spiritual enrichment activities sponsored by employees.
- Resources & Literature: Provide helpful literature and resources related to life issues.
- Representational Duties: Represent the company and provide ministry services during serious events such as illnesses, accidents, or funerals.
- Orientation Participation: Explain the Employee Care Service during new employee orientation.
- Additional Duties: Respond to other requests from executive leadership with permission from the Executive Director of Operations (EDO), within the scope of agreements.

- Spiritual Maturity: Firm commitment to Christian lifestyle, biblical knowledge, and active participation in a biblically-based church.
- Professionalism: Diplomatic, patient, courteous interaction with clients and colleagues, maintaining effective working relationships.
- Communication Proficiency: Excellent oral and written skills; emotional stability to handle human suffering and emergencies.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to interpret information, define problems, and identify solutions.
- Technical Competence: Proficiency with Google Suites, Microsoft Office, internet, email, and web-based tools; adaptability to new technology.
- Licensing: Must have an active state driver's license and minimum auto insurance in servicing states.

Must pass a pre-employment background check.
Work Environment
This role is remote, involving fieldwork at various client worksites, such as manufacturing facilities, hospitals, offices, and funeral homes. Work conditions may vary in temperature, noise, and lighting.
