Department Overview

Global Transaction Banking Americas (GTBA) offers a wide range of transaction banking services including payment and collection, cash and liquidity management, trade finance (such as conventional L/C, Supply Chain Management, Stand-by L/C), Commercial Cards, FX, and Treasury products. Our focus is on promoting these products to primarily Japanese and US corporate clients.

Summary of the Role

As a key driver of growth, you will develop and expand our global transaction banking business. Your goal will be to increase revenue from a broad international client base by delivering comprehensive cash management services—covering domestic U.S. payments, collections, liquidity, channel management, and card services.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Sales Responsibilities 🧾

  • Establish and execute a strategic sales plan to meet revenue targets and KPIs.
  • Proactively identify, develop, and manage new and existing clients for domestic, cross-border, and global transaction banking opportunities (Cash Management and FX).
  • Lead and manage the sales process from start to finish.
  • Create compelling sales presentations and respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), including forming deal teams, evaluating opportunities, and finalizing proposals.
  • Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and events.
  • Research and analyze regulatory and tax issues related to corporate cash and treasury management.
  • Maintain up-to-date customer files and write comprehensive call reports.
  • Create internal applications to streamline approval processes.
  • Coordinate effectively with teams implementing cash management services.
  • Enhance team knowledge of cash and treasury management best practices.
  • Perform any additional sales-related duties as required.

Partnering with Product Management Teams 🤝

  • Build strong working relationships with Product Management within GTBA and Japan.
  • Gain practical understanding of product offerings.
  • Communicate client needs, market trends, and pricing insights to product teams.
  • Provide feedback on customer needs, market intelligence, and product competitiveness to inform strategies.

Collaborating with Relationship Managers 🌐

  • Manage opportunities with new and existing clients in the Americas and Japan.
  • Create Product Account Plans to increase wallet share.
  • Build and nurture relationships with clients, including cash management, treasury, and procurement contacts.
  • Conduct joint and standalone client calls to offer transaction banking solutions and technical expertise.

Key Requirements & Attributes ⭐

  • Bilingual in Japanese and English (spoken and written); Spanish proficiency is a plus.
  • 5-7 years of experience in transaction banking.
  • Experience managing relationships for Japanese subsidiaries or significant commercial bank clients is preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of cash management services and working capital solutions.
  • Strong understanding of corporate treasury practices, advisory services, and credit.
  • Familiarity with regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
  • Proven success in achieving sales targets and managing multi-region deal coordination.
  • Positive, proactive attitude towards internal processes and team collaboration.
  • Leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, interpersonal, presentation, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Compensation & Benefits 💰

The expected base salary ranges from $100,000 - $125,000. Salary offers are contingent upon skills, experience, education, certifications, and market factors. Alongside a comprehensive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible for a discretionary bonus.

Additional Information
