Qualifications & Requirements 🎯
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; preferred fields include Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice.
- Minimum of two (2) years of customer service or case management experience; experience related to law, social work, detention, corrections, or multicultural client interaction is preferred.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish required.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate a vehicle for home visits.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Residency in the U.S. for at least 3 of the last 5 years (including military service and studying abroad).
Skills & Abilities:
- Effective verbal and written communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to interpret and articulate rules, instructions, and reports.
- Sound judgment and even temperament to handle stressful situations calmly.
- Skills in tactful public interaction and conflict de-escalation.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and cultural sensitivity.
- Foundational knowledge of immigration laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Proficiency in basic computer operations and software.
- Ability to interpret electronic monitoring data and maintain detailed case records.
Working Conditions 🚶♂️
- Primarily an office environment with some local travel required.
- Use of standard office equipment – copier, computer, phone, fax.
- Physical activities include bending, stooping, and installing electronic monitoring devices.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, and perform vehicle entries during home visits.
Job Responsibilities & Tasks 🛠️
Overview:
Provide case management for ISAP participants, from entry to release, following policies set by DHS.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, review, and update individual case management and service plans in accordance with regulation standards.
- Conduct face-to-face meetings with participants and maintain accurate, confidential case records.
- Perform intake interviews and orientations within contractual timelines.
- Install and monitor electronic monitoring devices on participants.
- Assist participants in obtaining travel documents and maintain logs.
- Assess English language proficiency and coordinate translation services, including emergency interpretation.
- Connect participants with community resources such as healthcare, legal aid, transportation, and social services.
- Supervise participants during office visits and manage schedules for legal and counseling appointments.
- Review and update service plans, conduct risk/needs assessments, and compile progress reports.
- Report violations promptly and verify participant residence through home visits.
- Provide emergency counseling when needed and foster relationships with community translation resources.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support program success.
