  • Duration: Temporary, through mid-April 2026

Position Summary 🎯

The Career Specialist at the Brooklyn Hub helps clients from diverse backgrounds, many impacted by poverty, access workforce training and employment opportunities. Responsibilities include guiding clients through intake and enrollment, providing ongoing support, monitoring participation, and assisting with future planning after program completion.

Principal Responsibilities 📝

  • Answer client calls, conduct intake interviews to assess training history, employment goals, and financial considerations.
  • Explain available training options and guide clients through the enrollment process.
  • Register and enroll clients into courses; maintain accurate and complete records.
  • Stay informed about local workforce and community resources to provide effective referrals.
  • Act as a liaison between students and instructors to promote engagement.
  • Monitor attendance, follow up with disengaged students, and discuss next steps after course completion.
  • Assist with classroom setup, basic IT troubleshooting, and support community resource room activities.
  • Provide basic computer assistance, such as completing forms or bill payments.
  • Document all interactions and activities in Salesforce promptly and accurately.
  • Participate in supervision meetings, team collaborations, and professional development training.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support program success.

Skills & Educational Requirements 🎓

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience in client services, case management, workforce development, or related areas (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (required); Salesforce experience (preferred).
  • Fluency in Yiddish or Hebrew (preferred).

Work Environment & Additional Details 🌍

Based primarily at the Brooklyn Hub, with occasional meetings and trainings at the Manhattan main office. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment serving a sensitive population and may participate in community events within Brooklyn.
