PA Lehigh Valley Career Counselor

$53,000
📝 Scope of Position
Provide individualized support and direct assistance to program participants in all areas related to gaining and/or retaining employment and career advancement.
🎯 Essential Functions
- Counseling & Motivation: Counsel, motivate, and encourage participants to develop personalized career pathways, explore training opportunities, and overcome barriers to achieve successful placement outcomes.
- Relationship Building: Establish professional one-on-one relationships with participants to assist in removing employment obstacles through assessment, personalized attention, coordination, and referrals to community or social service agencies.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain and document all interactions, contacts, activities, and progress notes to ensure consistent tracking. Submit required program data accurately and promptly for real-time reporting.
- Program Enrollment & Planning: Complete necessary documentation for enrollment, develop and update customized service plans aligned with participants' employment and training goals.
- Partnerships & Outreach: Follow-up with partner agencies for engagement, perform outreach through off-site appointments, visits to employers, satellite locations, and community events.
- Case Management: Provide continuous case management to monitor progress, maintain organized client records, and ensure successful program engagement.
- Participant Engagement: Coordinate retention services, accommodate participants' work schedules, and develop goal-oriented planning sessions with program staff.
- Additional Opportunities: Assist with other duties as they become available.
🎓 Education & Experience Requirements
- Experience in case management preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Bachelor's degree in education, training, human resources, social services, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to interact positively with diverse individuals and maintain a professional attitude.
- Must have a good driving record and reliable transportation.
- Experience working in a team-oriented environment.
- Bi-lingual skills or experience working with ESL populations is highly preferred.
