Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to oversee our culinary operations, inspire our kitchen team, and deliver outstanding dining experiences. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, extensive culinary proficiency, and a passion for innovative food presentation. This role involves managing all kitchen activities, staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and service across our establishment. The Executive Chef will also play a key role in menu development, inventory control, and maintaining compliance with health regulations while fostering a collaborative, efficient work environment. 🚀
Responsibilities
- Menu Execution & Development
- Master authentic Cantonese cuisine (BBQ, seafood, soups, dim sum, etc.)
- Ensure consistent, high-quality food presentation and taste
- Regularly develop new dishes and improve existing menu items
- Kitchen Operations Management
- Establish and optimize kitchen Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency and consistency
- Ensure full compliance with local food safety and health regulations in California
- Team Leadership
- Build, train, and manage the back-of-house team
- Develop performance standards and conduct staff evaluations
- Cost Control
- Manage food costs, inventory, and minimize waste
- Monitor purchasing and kitchen expenses to maximize profitability
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with front-of-house and management teams
- Align menu development with overall brand positioning
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Cantonese Executive Chef or senior-level chef
- Strong expertise in Cantonese cooking techniques and menu development
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Legal work authorization in the U.S. is required
Compensation & Benefits 💰
- Annual salary: $80,000 to $85,000
- Performance bonus + sales-based bonus
