Position Summary

As a Business Service Officer (BSO), you will shape the future of service by modernizing our client approach with elevated standards of care. Reporting directly to the Complex Business Service Officer (CBSO), you'll oversee Support Professionals, manage business functions within your assigned branches, and facilitate communication and training initiatives to drive excellence in service delivery.

🔥 Duties and Responsibilities

People Management and Communication

  • 🎯 Lead the branch in executing strategic priorities by influencing behavioral change, emphasizing consistency, quality, and compliance with firm policies.
  • 🤝 Supervise, mentor, and motivate Support and Service Professionals.
  • 🌟 Promote cross-training, ongoing learning, development, and recognition programs within the complex.
  • 📝 Facilitate interviewing, selection, and onboarding of new hires, including Financial Advisors and their Support Professionals.
  • 💼 Collaborate with CBSO and HR on performance reviews, performance management, and conflict resolution.
  • 🤝 Maintain robust relationships with key partners across the branch, complex, region, and home office by participating in meetings and calls.
  • 🗣️ Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with Support Professionals for coaching, career development, and team building.
  • 📅 Oversee Support Professionals' coverage for Financial Advisors in the branch.
  • 🏆 Recognize Support Professionals' achievements by sharing success stories and best practices.
  • 🌎 Foster a branch culture aligned with the firm’s core values, championing diversity and inclusion.

Operational Oversight

  • 💰 Manage travel and entertainment expenses to ensure budget adherence and forecasting accuracy.
  • 🔧 Facilitate resolution of client inquiries and requests efficiently.
  • 📞 Participate in national calls for platform updates, policies, and best practices sharing.
  • 🔄 Identify and implement process improvements to optimize productivity and efficiency.
  • 🛠️ Additional operational responsibilities as delegated by the CBSO.

🎓 Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education required.
  • Previous industry experience preferred.
  • Active Series 7, 8 (or 9 & 10), and 66 (or 63 & 65) licenses are required or as mandated.
  • Other licenses as needed for the role or management requirements.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize, resolve complex needs, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Capability to identify issues, trends, and provide comprehensive solutions.
  • Proven leadership and talent development capabilities.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Exceptional conflict resolution and relationship management skills.
  • Knowledge of Firm’s Risk & Compliance policies.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving aptitude.
