About the Role

As a Business Relationship Manager II (BRM) within Business Banking, you'll be instrumental in enhancing our clients' lives and supporting their business growth through tailored financial solutions, education, and strategic advice. Your focus will be on managing a diverse portfolio of new and existing business clients, delivering exceptional client experiences, and prioritizing risk management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Client Portfolio Management: Acquire, manage, and retain a portfolio of 70–90 business clients with annual revenues of $1–$5 million for assigned branches. Provide business deposit, cash management solutions, and oversee business credit opportunities up to approximately $1.5 million.
  • Deliver Exceptional Service: Offer comprehensive, customized business banking solutions tailored to each client's unique needs, ensuring an outstanding client experience.
  • Financial Solution Promotion: Leverage knowledge of business, finance, banking, credit, and risk management to identify and recommend optimal solutions that serve clients effectively while safeguarding portfolio profitability.
  • Relationship Building: Conduct regular in-person visits with prospects, Center of Influence (COIs), and existing clients at their places of business. Follow a disciplined relationship development process and adjust strategies as necessary in coordination with your manager.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business clients, fostering long-term primary banking relationships.
  • Client Financial Needs: Recognize the personal financial goals of business clients. Collaborate with partners across lines of business (such as Chase Wealth Management, Home Lending, and Branch Teams) to connect clients with specialists who can help meet their broader financial needs.
  • Leadership & Compliance: Support your assigned branches actively while adhering to sound risk management protocols and regulatory standards to protect the firm.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Business Banking Relationship Management or related business lending roles.
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business credit, core banking products, and industry practices, with an ability to adapt solutions based on varying business needs.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients and internal partners at all levels.
  • Risk & Prioritization: Ability to balance client needs with firm risks, recognize issues early, and determine when to escalate or resolve independently.
  • Problem Ownership: Demonstrated capability to independently own client issues and follow through to resolution.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Network: Established and active business network.
