🔍 An Overview of This Role

This is a fully remote position based in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, or the Netherlands. As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you'll play a pivotal role in our sales efforts by engaging targeted enterprise and mid-market accounts in collaboration with our marketing and customer success teams.

You will leverage creative marketing and sales strategies to prospect, engage diverse buyer personas, and introduce GitLab’s value—all with the goal of generating qualified meetings and healthy pipeline growth for the sales team.

Our BDRs come from diverse backgrounds, including those with experience in closing roles or team management. GitLab provides comprehensive onboarding and training to equip you with the necessary DevOps and GitLab knowledge.

🚀 What You'll Do

  • Execute outbound prospecting to generate qualified meetings and pipeline in your designated territory.
  • Engage in high-level discovery conversations to understand customer needs, qualify opportunities, and create Sales Accepted Opportunities (SAOs).
  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly SAO targets by converting prospects into opportunities.
  • Research and prioritize target accounts using industry insights to develop tailored outreach strategies.
  • Carry out a multi-touch outreach cadence (calls, emails, social media) using Outreach.io to maximize engagement.
  • Maintain accurate tracking and reporting of activities and pipeline in Salesforce for clear visibility and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and customer success teams to develop targeted campaigns, account lists, and call strategies. Attend regional marketing events to generate leads and drive SAOs.
  • Document and continually improve BDR processes, mentored by your Business Development Manager, and assist in onboarding new team members.

  • Proven initiative and independence in driving projects to successful completion

  • Knowledge of business processes, organizational roles, and structures
  • Persistent pursuit of goals, resilience, and continuous self-improvement
  • Passion for GitLab’s mission and journey
  • Proficiency with Salesforce and LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Previous experience in tech, sales development, marketing, or sales is a plus
  • Effective communication skills in English
