The Role: Business Development Manager
At Ria, our mission is to make money transfer accessible, fast, and reliable for communities around the globe. As a Business Development Manager, your key responsibilities include:
- Prospecting & Sales: Identify, cold-call, and conduct face-to-face meetings with potential independent retail agents. Deliver compelling sales presentations to establish new partnerships and increase transaction volume.
- Onboarding & Training: Lead a seamless onboarding process, including application, setup, and training, ensuring agents are well-equipped for success.
- Growth & Performance: Drive transaction volume and gross profit by signing new agents and supporting existing ones to meet and exceed targets.
- Market Analysis & Strategy: Monitor market data to identify growth opportunities, and recommend pricing or commission adjustments based on performance and competition.
- Agent Support & Engagement: Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, marketing materials, and compliance guidance to agents.
- Internal Collaboration & Community Engagement: Work closely with compliance, marketing, and back-office teams, and participate in local marketing and community events as needed. 🌟
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of outside B2B sales or business development experience, preferably in retail, consumer goods, or financial services.
- Fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi.
- Experience working with local independent retailers is a plus.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic troubleshooting abilities.
- Self-motivated with excellent time management and the ability to work independently.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required, with the ability to travel daily within assigned territory.
- Willingness to work occasional weekends and travel domestically.
- Physically able to install equipment (up to 25 lbs) and drive for extended periods.
