About This Role: Business Banker (Loan Officer)

As a Business Banker in our Consumer Banking and Lending division, you will build, maintain, and grow relationships with business clients directly within our branches. Your interactions will help us understand and meet client needs, fostering trust and growth in the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage & Grow: Oversee a portfolio of low to moderately complex business clients, typically generating $500K to $2MM in annual sales. Drive the full client journey from onboarding to relationship deepening.
  • Financial Solutions: Offer tailored banking solutions, including digital services, leveraging available tools to meet client needs.
  • Client Understanding: Analyze client operations to provide personalized financial advice aligned with their goals.
  • Trusted Advisor: Deliver a full suite of products such as business accounts, credit, treasury, and digital tools.
  • Networking & Collaboration: Build strong relationships externally and internally to generate referrals and grow the customer base.
  • Partner Support: Collaborate with Relationship Managers and Lending Officers on complex structures, ensuring policy compliance.
  • Customer Contact & Needs Assessment: Engage with clients to assess needs and refer interested customers to specialist teams, without offering or negotiating dwelling-secured transactions.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years of experience in financial services, sales, or customer service, demonstrated through work, training, military, or education.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (speaking and listening).

Desired

  • 2+ years of in-branch business banking experience.
  • At least 1 year managing a dedicated small business client portfolio.
  • Strong relationship-building and business acumen skills.
  • Deep knowledge of bank lending, credit policies, and specialized products.
  • Motivated team player capable of meeting objectives and maintaining high performance.
  • Excellent communication, follow-up, and risk management skills.
  • Ability to educate clients on digital banking tools and technology.
  • Experience mentoring peers.

Job Expectations & Compliance

  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
  • Loan Originator registration at employment start is required; Wells Fargo will facilitate the process.
  • Must meet the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) qualifications, including credit and background checks.
  • Work location: 3223 Bridge Ave., POINT PLEASANT, NJ 08742-3460. Placement may occur within a 10-mile radius.

Compensation & Benefits 💰🎁

Base pay range: $30.77 - $45.67 per hour. Actual pay varies based on performance, skills, experience, and location. Incentives may also be available.
