Job Title: Japanese Language Branch Banking Student Intern

As a vital member of our team, you will contribute to creating a welcoming, customer-focused environment at U.S. Bank while gaining valuable hands-on experience in branch banking and applying your Japanese language skills to support Japanese-speaking clients and community members. 🌍

Key Responsibilities

  • Gain practical experience: Solve real business needs and develop your foundational business knowledge.
  • Mentorship: Receive guidance from experienced branch leaders and team members.
  • Professional growth: Attend social, developmental, and networking events.
  • Shadowing opportunities: Observe staff across various branch functions.
  • Customer interactions: Participate in routine financial transactions and engage with customers.
  • Customer engagement best practices: Learn and implement in a retail banking setting.
  • Client communication: Support client needs using Japanese language skills when appropriate.
  • Build confidence: Practice Japanese in real customer scenarios.
  • Financial knowledge: Understand banking policies, financial principles, and regulatory standards.
  • Community involvement: Assist in outreach and engagement activities.
  • Additional clerical duties: Perform routine tasks, respond to customer inquiries, answer calls, and support community events and outreach programs.

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Conversational proficiency in Japanese and English

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of general office procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a professional environment
  • Excellent reading, writing, and mathematical skills
  • Proficiency with personal computers and office equipment
  • Strong organizational skills for information management
  • Bilingual fluency in Japanese and English, including business-level reading, writing, and speaking

Location & Work Environment

This internship requires working onsite at a U.S. Bank location during scheduled workdays. 🏢
