Humana’s Marketing and Communications team is looking for a meticulous Bilingual Translator-Proofreader proficient in both English and Spanish. Key Responsibilities 📝

  • Collaborate with internal teams to process translation requests for pre-formatted documents.
  • Partner with external translation vendors to ensure timely project completion and adherence to deadlines.
  • Proofread and quality-check translations prior to delivery.
  • Provide feedback to translation vendors to maintain high-quality standards.

Essential qualities: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Required Qualifications 🎯

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish — fluent in speaking, reading, and writing in both languages without limitations.
  • Minimum of 2+ years experience translating healthcare content
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages, including grammar
  • Proven project management capabilities and ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Dedicated to enhancing consumer experiences and organizational improvement

Preferred Qualifications ⭐

  • Experience as a writer, editor, or journalist in Spanish
  • Experience managing external vendor partnerships

Language Proficiency Testing 🔎

All Humana associates speaking with members in a language other than English must complete a language proficiency assessment via an external vendor. The ILR test, provided by the Federal Government, will be required.

Remote Work Requirements 💻

  • Home or hybrid employees must have internet speeds of at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload (wireless, wired cable, or DSL recommended).
  • Satellite, cellular, or microwave connections require leadership approval.
  • Employees in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will receive bi-weekly internet expense assistance.
  • Humana provides necessary telephone equipment.
  • Work should be conducted in a dedicated, interruption-free space to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Additional Details 📅

  • Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
  • Pay Range: $59,300 – $80,900 annually, based on location and experience.
  • This position is eligible for performance-based bonuses.
