Covenant House New Jersey Is Hiring A Bilingual Training & Resource Specialist

Join our team as a Bilingual Spanish/English Training and Resource Specialist to play a vital role in delivering impactful training and support services related to diversion programs and human trafficking prevention. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while working closely with law enforcement and survivors.

Position Overview

The Training and Resource Specialist collaborates with the Senior Director to develop and deliver training sessions on the Diversion program and Human Trafficking. The role involves ongoing technical assistance, supporting law enforcement in implementation, and providing compassionate services to victims and survivors of trafficking, emphasizing respect and unconditional love.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Co-develop training and technical assistance materials, updating them as needed
  • Conduct training sessions on diversion and screening for law enforcement agencies participating in the STAR program
  • Support the implementation of screening tools and diversion initiatives within designated agencies
  • Deliver training on human trafficking detection and screening tools for victims
  • Ensure protocols align with project models and best practices
  • Attend stakeholder and partner meetings as appropriate
  • Assist in fulfilling grant reporting requirements
  • Apply knowledge of social work policies, standards, and procedures related to homelessness and trafficking
  • Support outreach to victims during law enforcement operations, such as raids
  • Refer victims aged 18-24 to appropriate residential programs for emergency shelter and services
  • Provide case management to connect victims with core services in their communities
  • Build and maintain a directory of community resources for survivors
  • Track and manage outside referrals and service linkages
  • Collect and document data in the ETO database and other systems
  • Maintain detailed records of client interactions, caseload progress, and agency contacts
  • Complete all necessary documentation, including intake assessments and transitions
  • Respond daily to work phones and emails
  • Represent the agency at events and meetings as needed
  • Participate in on-call rotations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor

Work Schedule & Compensation

Availability required Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with rotating on-call shifts. Salary: $65,000 annually.

Candidate Requirements: Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in social work, criminal justice, public policy, or a related field (Lived and professional experience considered)
  • Experience working with or training law enforcement preferred
  • Knowledge of human trafficking, with experience supporting survivors preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Canva and creating slide decks (preferred)
  • Valid NJ driver’s license with an insurable driving record
  • Own vehicle for transportation
  • Individuals with lived experience of trafficking and/or homelessness encouraged to apply
  • Fluency in Spanish is required
