About the Role
We are seeking motivated law students to join our New York office as Summer Associates / Legal Interns within our Business Immigration team. This is a fantastic opportunity for students aiming to develop their careers in U.S. business and investment immigration law. Interns will work directly alongside experienced attorneys on sophisticated legal matters for a diverse, international client base.
Interns will gain exposure to a wide range of practice areas, including:
- EB-5
- L-1A
- E-2
- EB-1A
- EB-1C
- NIW (National Interest Waiver)
- H-1B
- Adjustment of Status Applications
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong academic record and current enrollment in a J.D. program
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments effectively
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Demonstrated interest in immigration law (prior coursework, clinic, or internship experience a plus)
- Bilingual skills in Mandarin Chinese / English (required)
Daily Responsibilities
Under supervision from attorneys and partners, interns will:
- Conduct legal research on business immigration issues and prepare research memoranda
- Draft and assist in preparing petition letters, supporting documents, and client correspondence
- Review and organize supporting evidence and exhibits for filings
- Assist attorneys and paralegals in preparing legal documents for high-end individual and corporate clients
- Participate in client calls and team meetings, with opportunities to observe direct client communication
- Support attorneys with case management and other assigned tasks
