Senior Human Resources Generalist
The Senior Human Resources Generalist provides comprehensive HR support to employees at assigned sites. Reporting to the Corporate VP of Human Resources, this position is part of a united HR team dedicated to delivering consistent and high-quality service organization-wide. 🤝
Responsibilities
- Employee Relations: Resolve employee relations issues, conduct thorough investigations, and collaborate with management to determine suitable resolutions.
- Discipline & Policy Management: Assist management with policy interpretation, disciplinary actions, performance assessments, and terminations under the guidance of the VP of HR.
- Labor Agreements: Administer and interpret labor agreements, and support grievance procedures.
- Onboarding & Orientation: Lead new hire orientation and manage onboarding processes to ensure a smooth integration.
- Benefits Administration: Support the administration of benefits programs, communicate plans, and assist with Open Enrollment and onboarding procedures.
- Leave & Workers’ Compensation: Oversee leave of absence programs and coordinate workers’ compensation claims with the Safety Manager, including documentation and follow-up.
- Exit Process: Conduct exit interviews, analyze trends, and report insights to management.
- Program Development: Assist in developing and implementing new HR programs, policies, and procedures.
- Recruitment: Manage full-cycle recruitment for both exempt and non-exempt roles, aiming to attract and retain high-performing talent.
- Process Improvement: Create innovative approaches to improve hiring, retention, and employee engagement practices.
- Payroll Collaboration: Partner with the Payroll team to ensure accurate employee data submission and guide managers through update processes.
- Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with employees and leadership at all levels, demonstrating professionalism and positivity.
- Documentation & Performance: Maintain a comprehensive database of job descriptions and execute annual performance reviews.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned to support HR functions and organizational goals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree: Required.
- Experience: Minimum of eight years in progressive HR roles, with emphasis on employee relations and full-cycle recruitment.
- Language Skills: Bilingual fluency in Spanish is mandatory.
- Union Experience: Familiarity with union environments is a plus.
- HR Systems: Knowledge of ADP Workforce is advantageous.
- Flexibility & Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Confidentiality & Integrity: High level of discretion, accuracy, and ethical standards.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint at an intermediate level.
- Legal Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Pennsylvania and federal employment laws; knowledge of Illinois and Washington state laws is a plus.
